Playing dead saved my life: 32-year-old woman stalked and beaten to a pulp by abusive ex after she walked out

Playing dead saved my life: 32-year-old woman stalked and beaten to a pulp by abusive ex after she walked out

When 32-year-old Grace Nyaguthii walked out on an abusive relationship and took her four-year-old son with her, she never expected to find herself in a hospital, with eyes swollen shut. She wrote;
"It wasn’t the first time; I had left before, but was sweet-talked into returning. I did so mainly because of our child. I did not want my son to grow up without a father. But the breaking point came when I realised there was more harm being done when I saw he was fearful in his own home. But leaving hardly ever gives one a clean break." she narrates from her bed at Nairobi Women's Hospital.

Weeks, months, and even years later, Grace was still dealing with her ex, who was still calling her and showing up at the places she would go.
"We both lived in South B, Nairobi, so it was easy for him to find me," she says. In fear, Grace moved to Nanyuki town with her son to get away from him. Last year, she came back to Nairobi to start a business and the harassment continued.
"At this point, I had learnt how to deal with him. I could never tell him ‘no’ outright because it would aggravate him. Instead, when we talked I would lie and promise that one day we would reunite as a family. The guise of friendship placated him and allowed me a bit of peace."
The situation took a bad turn last week, when in the midst of planning for her grandmother’s funeral, Boss, as he is known by his friends, found out where Grace lived.
"He came at 5.30am on the day of the burial after a night of drinking. He was to attend the funeral as well. Badging into my house, he moved around in a craze. He was surprised to see that I had moved on and was living well without him. I was in a hurry to leave as I had to go to the mortuary and told him so," she narrates.
He responded with a hard back-hand slap. "You’re telling me what to do because I’m in your house," he asked her. Enraged, he proceeded to push her until she fell on her bed, sat on her chest and rained blows on her face.
"He choked me as he beat me so that I couldn’t scream, saying he was going to kill me. He kept hitting and hitting, and I realised that the more I fought to get away, the harder the blows came. So, I decided to play dead. This saved my life," says Grace.
Contented that he had accomplished his mission, Boss ransacked her things, took the money she had and even her new clothes for the funeral, and left.

Grace on a hospital bed nursing extensive wounds, having just regained her eyesight as the beatings caused her face to swell so much, her eyes could not open, is angry, hurt, and wants justice, not just for her, but all other women who are going through what she has.

Parents discover their daughter was sexually abused by a Priest after finding shocking sketches of the assault

Parents discover their daughter was sexually abused by a Priest after finding shocking sketches of the assault

Parents of a five-year-old girl in Brazil discovered heart-breaking sketches showing how she was allegedly sexually abused by a 54-year-old priest - Father Joao da Silva. According to reports, the little girl suddenly refused to attend any more of da Silva's English classes.

She was so distraught that they took her to a child psychologist who suspected sexual abuse and urged her parents to search her room for any signs.

They decided to do so and found hidden among her books - six heartbreaking drawings by their daughter detailing the sexual abuse.

"One drawing shows a man apparently looming over a child who has a look of abject terror on her face. Another harrowing image apparently shows a girl lying on a bed with a man forcing himself between her legs. Underneath him the picture appears to show the girl screaming in either fear or agony."

When the angry father confronted the priest via a phone call, the cleric confessed to him. Police have taken the priest into custody and he is being interviewed over the child abuse allegations.

Leicester City becomes first EPL side to win first 3 champions league matches in history

English Premier League defending champions Leicester City have made history as they are the first club from England to win their first three matches in the UEFA Champions League following wins over FC Copenhagen, FC Porto and Club Brugge and can now reach the last 16 with a point in their next fixture.

Speaking to Journalists, Coach Claudio Ranieri said: “We are the record team! We are in a good position, our destiny is in our hands and we want to continue in this way.
It’s good to go in the Europa League [Leicester now look assured to finish third at worst in the group], at least.

"Now we have to go into the next round of the Champions League and we will go step by step.”
“For this reason I put him (PFA player of the year Mahrez) on the bench against Chelsea,” said the Foxes boss. “Now it’s right, eh?”

Ranieri also praised Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel for making a brilliant save in the 90th minute to deny former Cardiff striker Andreas Cornelius.

“Thank you to Kasper. Thank you to all my players, because in every high ball Copenhagen is very strong,” he said.

“It was a good performance, totally different from the Premier League, but that is normal when a team like Leicester plays for the first time in its life in the Champions League.
“From one side, I’m very proud. From the other side when I think of the Premier League, I’m very, very angry. But it’s OK because in my career this has happened.

"When for the first time you play in a big competition, you lose something when you go back in your league.”

Lady sets up her boyfriend with a porn star to test his faithfulness and instantly regrets it

Lady sets up her boyfriend with a porn star to test his faithfulness and instantly regrets it

A lady who wanted to test her boyfriend's loyalty decided to set him up with the ultimate honey trap. She sent porn star Valerie White to catch him out and the whole thing was documented on To Catch A Cheater. The unsuspecting guy didn't give in to Valerie's overt flirtations and admitted he had a girlfriend but she did succeed in getting his number after he suggested they could hang out.

The story unfolded on YouTube channel 'To Catch a Cheater', and it shows how the unidentified man was filmed as he was approached by blonde actress/pornstar, Valerie White.  Valerie was sent to chat up her boyfriend who she's been dating for a year , and there was a hidden camera set in place to catch the whole scenario.

As she walked up to him to start a conversation, He initially ignores her then walks into a book store  but when he came out of the store she pretended like she had lost her way.

Valerie says she is “lost” and asks for his number, but he replies:
“What do you want my number for?”
He does give her his number but admits he has a girlfriend and suggests
: “We could hang out … the three of us or four of us.”
The pornstar hints at a threesome, he tries to walk away, but she then pleads with him to drive her home before telling him she had nowhere to spend the night.

She asks:
“Is it cool if I stay with you? Just for the night?”
The man then gets suspicious and asks
“Why are you interested in me?”
She answers:
“I’m a porn star and I have this new season coming up and I need to practice. I don’t care that you have a girlfriend.”
She adds:
“It looks big through your pants. Can I touch it?”
Hilariously, he replies: “In front of Barnes and Noble? Naw.”

He then escaped the porn-star....

A bit disappointed in her boyfriend for giving the porn star his number, Karen says she has
"mixed and crazy feelings" about him.

She finally said to organizers of YouTube channel 'To Catch a Cheater':

"OK, OK. I'm not going to break up with him but I don't like that he got her number and said he would hang out.
She then called her boyfriend and revealed that she had set up the whole meeting process. To her greatest surprise her boyfriend, who was furious at her for testing him publicly  broke up with her on the phone immediately, telling her: “I'm done.”

As she begs him to be understanding, and tells him “I did this for us”, he hangs up.

Shocked at his response she said
"Are you f***ing kidding me? That's how he breaks up with me after a f***ing year?"

Nigeria Customs Service dismisses 29 senior officers

Nigeria Customs Service dismisses 29 senior officers

Twenty-nine (29) Senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have been dismissed for various acts of gross misconduct. In a statement issued by Customs PRO, Wale Adeniyi, it was revealed that the dismissed officers were among forty-four (44) senior officers who were punished for actions capable of compromising national economy and security.

"Ten (10) other officers were retired from Service, while the appointment of one (1) was terminated. Four (4) officers were given written warnings to be of better conduct while another 4 officers who were investigated and tried for some offences were exonerated.

Four (4) of the officers who got the hammer were of the rank of Deputy-Comptroller of Customs, while five (5) were Assistant-Comptroller. Others were seven (7) Chief Superintendents of Customs and four (4) Superintendents, among others. "Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hammed Ali (Rtd) had made it clear upon his assumption of duties that the Service will not compromise on Corruption and Indiscipline among the officers corps. In line with this, the structure and process for investigation of offences was strengthened to handle cases reported promptly and professionally.

“We will give all officers fair hearing in line with the principle of natural justice. We will however insist that sanctions be punitive, not only to match the offence committed, but to serve as deterrent to others”, the CGC remarked at Management meeting convened to consider the report of the Disciplinary Committee that investigated the cases.

"The process leading to the actions taken on the officers was painstaking in line with the Public Service Rules (PSR). All the officers were served with Queries indicating offences committed, before they made appearances before the Special Investigation Committee. The Committee’s recommendation was discussed and approved by the Customs Management. The recommendation was thereafter referred to the Presidency for ratification, in the absence of a substantive Board for the Nigeria Customs Service. All the officers affected in the exercise have been communicated accordingly.

"The Comptroller-General warned officers that punitive sanctions will continue to be used to discipline officers who refuse to embrace change. Officers affected in this exercise were investigated for involvement in improper examination and release of containers without proper documentation and payment of duties, illegal release of goods in advance before the arrival of vessels, collection of bribe to release prohibited items, release of export prohibitions, fraudulent sale of seized items, use of fake certificates and bribery to secure auctioned goods. "Last week, seventeen (17) Junior officers were similarly dismissed from service for offences like bribery, drug addiction, use of fake certificates and absence from duty."
